Day 1: Arrive Paro – Thimphu

(Airport pick-up, Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge, National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma, Bhutan Post Office)

Tashi Delek and welcome to Bhutan! Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (2,262m), our local representative will warmly receive you. After a brief introduction, you will begin your journey to Thimphu (50 km, about 1.5 hours). Along the way, you may visit Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge, the majestic Buddha Dordenma Statue, the National Memorial Chorten, or the Bhutan Post Office Headquarters, depending on timing. Once in Thimphu, check in to your cozy hotel and relax as you adjust to the altitude and time difference.

Day 2: Thimphu

(Takin Sanctuary, Folk Heritage Museum, School of Arts & Crafts, Trashichho Dzong, Zilukha Nunnery)

Today, you will discover the highlights of Bhutan’s charming capital. Begin with a visit to the Takin Sanctuary before continuing to the Folk Heritage Museum and the School of Arts and Crafts. Afterwards, explore the impressive Trashichho Dzong and the peaceful Zilukha Nunnery. Later, return to your hotel for a comfortable evening.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha

(Dochula Pass, Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang, Wangduephodrang Dzong)

After breakfast, travel to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass, known for its panoramic Himalayan views. Continue onward to visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and the sacred Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. Conclude the day with a stop at Wangduephodrang Dzong before checking in for the night.

Day 4: Punakha – Gangtey

(Khamsum Yueley Namgyal Chorten, Black-Necked Crane Center)

This morning begins with a visit to the stunning Khamsum Yueley Namgyal Chorten. Afterwards, drive to the serene Phobjikha Valley in Gangtey (75 km, about 2.5 hours). In the afternoon, explore the Black-Necked Crane Center to learn about these rare migratory birds that winter in the valley.

Day 5: Gangtey – Paro

(Gangtey Nature Trail, Gangtey Monastery)

Begin your day with a gentle hike along the Gangtey Nature Trail (4 km, 1.5–2 hours). Starting at Gangtey Monastery (3,030m) and ending at Khewang Lhakhang (2,850m), this scenic walk showcases the tranquil beauty of Phobjikha Valley, with its pine forests, farmhouses, and seasonal black-necked cranes. After visiting Gangtey Goemba, drive back to Paro (170 km, about 5 hours) for the night.

Day 6: Paro

(Tiger’s Nest Monastery, Ta Dzong National Museum)

This day is dedicated to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Drive to the trailhead and begin your hike—about 2.5 hours one way, or 5 hours round trip. A rest stop at the Taktsang Cafeteria offers a rewarding view halfway up. Those who prefer may ride a horse (optional, self-paid) up to the cafeteria. After descending, visit Ta Dzong, home to Bhutan’s National Museum. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner in Paro, accompanied by a Bhutanese cultural dance show.

Day 7: Departure from Paro

(Airport drop-off)

It’s time to bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon. Our representative will accompany you to the airport for your departure flight.
